- The scope of practice for physiotherapists. Specifically, the prescription of medications and issuing of ACC medical certificates.
- The independence of ACC, the Board and PNZ.
- Issues around the Advance Practitioner status such as the requirement of a master’s degree.
- Burden of costs of having to belong to PNZ to obtain ACC contracts.
- ACC contract requirements may infringe on the ability to practice physiotherapy as allowed under Board regulations or policies.
- Determining competency should be a Board domain and not ACC or PNZ.
- An update on changes within the Board infrastructure.
- Whether physiotherapists provide medical treatment, reports, and notes.
Other topics were discussed and the Board members were very helpful and receptive to our concerns.
